Winter Fairytale.

Joseffa Trip is one of my favorite models / actresses, and she is always a delight to work with. When I asked her if there was any sort of photoshoot she’d like to do, she said she wanted to be in a fairytale. Once we figured out exactly how we wanted it to look like, we ran into a couple of problems: 1) long, beautiful, flowing fairytale dresses are actually much harder to find than I would have guessed, and 2) it being the middle of winter, there wasn’t a forest around with any sort of green leaves. After weeks of searching, we finally found a beautiful dress through Free People, and after visiting every forest and public park within 20 miles of Denton, we decided it would be best to lean into our problem and make it a winter fairytale (similar to Alphonse Mucha’s The Seasons painting series) by shooting in the barest woods around and use cold color temperatures. Once we figured that out, everything else made sense.

The amazingly talented Mallory Chokas did Joseffa’s hair & make-up, giving her a gorgeous and elegant look, complete with baby’s breath accents. Hannah Bishop lent her antique lanterns for an important prop at dusk. And Erin Summerlin was my wonderful assistant, helping blow a stripe of tulle in the background, reflecting the sunlight, and adjusting Joseffa’s hair & baby’s breath.

Here are some behind the scenes photos…
